In observance of the 50th anniversary of Sergei Prokofieff's death, we are preparing a class project on his "For the Children" opus 65.
This work features music depicting childhood scenery & emotions. It is very interesting to watch how students of different ages and skill levels are becoming emotionally involved in this music despite its 20th century tonal language. Working on these piano pieces give us the opportunity to listen to other orchestral works by Prokofieff with greater understanding and joy.
